Enchanting Üsküdar …

Only recently I drove through a part of Üsküdar, on the Asian side of Istanbul, called Kuzguncuk. In the past, it was the home of many Jews, Armenians and Greeks. It is the most charming district with many of the traditional wooden Bosphorus houses still intact and a very warm communal feel.

One can take the ferry-boat from Karaköy to Üsküdar. It is a nice long ride across the Bosphorus. They even serve tea and Turkish sandwiches on board!

Once one gets to the Asian shore one can walk along the Bosphorus and enjoy the most stunning views.

  1. Queen Melania says:

I have a queenly joke for you. Q: What do you say to the queen of the Egyptians who is bored of everything and wants to end it all? A: “Have you heard of Dignitasp?”

Beautiful pictures and you can almost smell the Bosphorus in the air. Do you know we’re getting sunshine in London again? Just a little, little bit.
